Why everyone keeps coming back.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Nacogdoches, TX, is a must-visit destination for lovers of authentic American barbecue served with a warm, family-friendly vibe. Specializing in smoky, savory flavors perfected through a slow-smoking process, this local branch of the famed barbecue chain stands out for its signature pit-smoked meats and comforting Southern-style sides.

When you step inside at 3505 South Street, you’re welcomed not just by the appetizing aroma of smoked brisket and ribs, but by a staff who clearly takes pride in delivering a heartfelt barbecue experience. The atmosphere is unpretentious and inviting — ideal for casual family meals or group gatherings where everyone can dig into generous portions of crowd-pleasing favorites.

The menu is a treasure trove for barbecue aficionados and newcomers alike. The Group Packs are practically designed for sharing and celebration, offering customizable options such as the Big Yellow Box with 4 lbs. of your choice of meats alongside three large sides, rolls, relish, and sauce—comfort food to satisfy any size group. Family Packs and XL Packs provide similarly hearty servings, ensuring there’s enough smokehouse goodness for all.

Signature meats shine brightly here. The Brisket is a showcase of true pit-smoked craft: tender, richly flavored, and imbued with the subtly spicy Dickey’s Brisket Rub. Equally tempting is the Pulled Pork, slow-smoked to juicy perfection, and the Pork Ribs, boasting a delicate bark that holds tender, smoky meat within. For a bit of a kick, the Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage marries mild heat and creamy cheese in every bite, while the Italian-herb-marinated Chicken Breast offers a lighter, yet deeply flavorful option. And don’t overlook the Polish Kielbasa, a vibrant addition representing classic smoky sausage fare.

Dickey’s goes beyond the traditional with creative bakers and ’cue combinations that elevate comfort food to something spectacular. The Loaded Baker—stuffed with bacon crumbles, cheddar, green onions, sour cream, and butter—delivers an indulgent, velvety texture complemented by smoky, savory accents. The Brisket Mac Stack pairs slow-smoked brisket with creamy mac and cheese in a soul-satisfying union, while the Buffalo Chicken Mac Stack spices things up with a zesty kick balanced by luscious mac and cheese. Those who crave crunch will love the Fritos Pie Stack, where corn chips are topped with your favorite barbecue meat and fixings, creating a multi-textural delight.

Regular diners and first-timers alike have much to praise. Chris Edwards highlights the value and satisfying quality of a quick lunch here, appreciating that Dickey’s offers not just convenience but genuine flavor that stands up to barbecue connoisseurs’ expectations. Casey Martin raves about the welcoming atmosphere and expertly crafted meats, noting perfectly moist turkey and brisket. Monique Bullock regards this Nacogdoches location as her new favorite, commending the impeccable service and consistently juicy, tender turkey. Lee Perry recommends finishing your meal with a slice of pecan pie to complete the authentic Southern barbecue experience. Percy remarks on the professionalism and cleanliness of the staff, reflecting the establishment’s commitment to customer care and safe, enjoyable dining.

If you’re craving barbecue that hits all the right notes—smoky, juicy, richly flavored, and paired with thoughtful sides and creative twists—Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Nacogdoches is a destination worth savoring. I walked into this Dickey’s on a Wednesday afternoon, not expecting much but a quick, tasty and filling lunch at a great bargain for barbecue these days. Dickey’s has never really been high on my list of must-visit joints; more of a convenience factor. I’ve been eating, cooking and appreciating barbecue, especially brisket, for many years and I feel I know good barbecue. All that being said, I was astonished today. That brisket was superb. Not sure if it’s just this location or across the whole chain, regarding a different cooking protocol, but it was some of the best I’ve had (and I’ve eaten LOTS). Plus, the lady and the gentleman working in there during my visit were incredibly nice and accommodating. Definitely paying this Dickeys another visit soon!

This Dickey’s BBQ is awesome! First off, these guys welcomed us in like we were regulars, even though we were just passing through and had never been before. I got the turkey and my husband got the sliced brisket. Both were excellent so they aren’t just nice folks, they are top notch pit masters too! Turkey was so juicy and not overly smokey! Brisket had that perfect bark and was moist and delicious! We almost passed it up because it’s attached to a gas station and I’m so glad we didn’t let that stop us!!

We travel all over the US for work and dickeys BBQ is a must stop for us. This location now is our favorite. Meridian ms. has always been our favorite location for the tastier BBQ, but now this store takes it place. The service was impeccable, the 2 gentlemen that waited on us were so polite and cordial. That turkey, spot on. Juicy, tender, delicious. Thank you gentlemen for a delightful, delicious lunch. #1 location!

Smoky as we were driving by, and our curiosity got us, did a U turn follow the smoke The first time ever that I pulled out Google to see reviews and recommendations on what to order. Brisket with mac & cheese, fried okra Gentleman let us sample his meats so we could decide on lean or fat and we chose thin layer of cardiac arrest brisket Cooked to perfection, someone recommended fried okra and I'm glad I listened... hear, hear! If you have never liked okra for whatever reason, you'll love it now. Fried awesomely perfect, bite size, crunchy, not slimy little taters ..so gûd you'll want to pop a few orders of these. Place is attached to a gas station, a bit old but cozy. Staff is beyond friendly maybe let go of the plastic tablecloth as it kept sticking to our arms and just go bare
